History of Hearing

Made in collaboration with the Autonomous Intelligent Systems Lab and the University of Western England, this piece was created as a home for six robots. It was a labyrinthine environments defined by screens onto which images of the robots and the audience were projected. Some of the robots responded to lights, carried by visitors, by approaching them or backing off. Another robot carried a camera which filmed interactons between the people and the robots.
Marv - one of our robots.

Visit the Autonomous Intelligent Systems Unit for more information about the robots.

This installation took place on December 11 1995 at the conference "Grasping the NET:tle" in Exeter.
